Who am I?
Data Scientist & Biomedical Informaticist
Born to a couple from the state of Maharashtra, India but growing up in Odisha, India, I have always been exposed to a diversity of language, culture, perspectives and thoughts. Like many kids, I was inquisitive and pensive, but I made it a point to not lose this quality as I ventured into adulthood. In January 2021, I moved to the United States for a myriad of reasons: to learn about and explore the world, to enhance my career, to build a better life for myself, among a few of them.
I currently reside in Houston, Texas - enrolled into the Research Masters program in Biomedical Informatics at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston , or UTHealth Houston. In this age of information, data holds a power which can make or break the world. I have been training myself in using computer science to extract data, using this data to extract information, and eventually using this information to generate knowledge. I like to get involved in the entire data science life cycle of a project, be it a personal one or in a team. I am currently working hard to build analytical, programming and communication skills as I one day wish to move to a leadership role and have ownership of a product assisting millions of lives.
When I am not working on my projects or assignments, I like to take my bike out and explore the (usually) warm and sunny city of Houston. I have also cultivated a passion for cooking: every week I bike to a grocery, explore the fresh produce, bakery and condiments sections, and experiment with food in my kitchen.

Skills
I have worked on every stage of the life cycle of a data science project. I started my career by building a strong foundation in programming and software development. I applied these skills when I learnt about the cloud, set and automated data infrastucture on the it. Now I work in the world of Machine Learning, on projects involving Natural Language Processing, Image Processing, and Deep Learning. Here is a highlight of a few, with a relative scale of ability.
Resume
I completed my undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering at
the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela. During my final
years here, I developed an interest in solving problems in the
medical and healthcare world through software engineering and data
science. After graduation, I worked in the Indian IT industry for
2.5 years. Here at UTHealth, I have been building on my previous
work as well as exposing myself to newer and advanced topics. This is
my exhaustive and complete resume.
